I got my led's in and was going to have my audio shop install them but they declined to do it. Im not so sure about doing it myself. Those things are SMALL
Who did a self install?? What tools did you use? Any special solder gun??
Who had them installed elsewhere?? Who did it?Charge?
Last Would anyone do the install for me? If so how much?
You doubt me Rice? I have seen the install guide..it just really isnt that great for the acutal solder part of the process. I have done a tad bit of soldering..but arent these led's surface mounts??
Is it really just as simple as heat the old solder pull the old led and drop the new led on with a drop or two of solder?
also go to radio shack, get a precision soldering tool set. it comes with little prongs and picks to solder those hard-to reach , tiny spots. I believe it comes w/instructions too.
a slder-sucker is handy too, either the squeeze bulb type or the spring loaded version will work, you simply heat up the solder with the iron and suck it up with the tool. very nice for a job like that.
i did mine with a cheap soldering iron and about an hour or 2, wasn't hard at all, just gotta make sure you get them in good, they're like christmas lights, one goes off, a few others go with it, just a matter of pushing them down til they all go back on and then you'll know which one you need to push in better.
basically solder the old ones off...easier if you alternate the solder gun from top to bottom, you'll know when the old led's are off...have a tweezer handy to handle the old leds and to pick up the new leds...once the old leds are off, you'll notice two pads on the top and bottom, just place the new led's on top of those, heat up the pad and viola!
