I'm not a BIG fan of hood pins. Do I need to install them for that hood, or does the latch that come with it,good enough. I will be buying that hood pretty soon.

They're a little flatter than normal hoodpins, and if they were black, they'd be hardly noticeable (from prostreetonline.com) [ prostreetonline.com]

hei i wonder how do those look on our cars. Coz as i mentioned in some other thread, hood pins are apparently illegal here coz they are considered "sharp protrusions" and are therefore dangerous to padestrians. ALtho this is ridiculous, i might as well try and comply coz its kinda hard to hide hoodpins from plain sight! those hoodpins dont look like they have 'protursions' so i guess it should be alright.

You're always running a risk by having a very light hood (such as carbon fiber) and not using hood pins. Personally, I wouldn't take that risk. You could cause a terrible accident if that hood goes flying off at high speed on the freeway. Just my $.02

Scratching my head, i could of sworn someone else asked the same question just Yesterday... hmmmm https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=226772Just like any other hood with a raised scoop (even stock hood) there is play because you're getting a lot of drag running 65mph and putting resistance up front of that (just stick your hand out the window as you are doing 65mph and form your hand into a cup - now you too will feel that resistance On a stock hood with raised scoop, the hood also moved around somewhat. who else with raised scoop, going 100mph, has noticed sever shaking of the hood

Painted black, I don't think those look half bad Yep low profile/discrete and no one will think about playing with them since they use a key to open
