Well I'm going on my fourth TRD spoiler. The first one I had lasted the longest but it eventually cracked on the top right corner of the spoiler. Then I got my second one which lasted two weeks. Then that one cracked on the exact same place except on the opposite side of the spoiler. Keep in mind these cracks are extemely fine and thin, I don't know what's causin them though. Then I just had my new one put on today but the guy "Dan" from my profile drilled a little too much and the bolt went through the base of the spoiler. So tomarrow I'm gonna get my fourth one, hopefully this one lasts. But the greates thing is, I get them all for free since he has a warranty thingy on them. thumbsup

Are these genuine TRD wings or reproductions? As long as they're free I guess you can't complain too much, but still.. they shouldn't be breaking like that.

They're Genuine TRD. Red McCombs Toyota recommended this guy because he does brach off work for them. He runs his own company called "Blankship Aero." All the parts he orders though are through Toyota. He couldn't understand why they were cracking either, even the mechanic at toyota didn't know why. He did call the Toyo place he orders these spoilers from, so hopefully the next one won't crack. The TRD spoiler is Carbon Fiber right?

It's fiberglass. Thanks guys. I know it's not Utherane. That's why he doesn't know why it's cracking. Fiberglass is suppose to be pretty durable. But as long as it doesn't crack I'm happy.

Genuine TRD Spoiler has been discontinued in 2001, it was then called ActionPackage Spoiler for 2002 and newer.

Genuine TRD for the year 2000, had problems with cracking - adjustments were made and the problems were corrected.

check the TSB guides - you don't see people pulling these off their cars for recalls...

Is Toyota replacing these for you under warranty? if not - then why? something sounds fishy here...

actually when i had mine (genuine TRD 2002) put on i asked them wat material it was made of and the guys over here told me some sorta plastic. cant remember the name only that it had the word 'plastic' in it. and the unpainted wing did look and feel like plastic so i never thought twice about it. Surely the material the wings we get here arent made of different materials?

It's polyurethane... very similar to plastic but much more flexible...

Thanks guys. I've already gotten it replaced. I'm in school right now so I don't know how it looks at this very moment cause my mom got it and then dropped it off. It should look good though. thumbsup
