what is the difference in a gt head and a gts head and will you need to switch ecu and wiring harness?

I think there were rumors going around that if you put the GTS head on the GT block you will come out with a 3ZZ engine, not sure is it's really true though. don't really know the specs. either.

Edit: Oh shit hope you guys weren't talking about stereo's???? confused rofl

I have a GT. and this past weekend i installed a new stero, i did need a new wireing harness to go from the toyota celica harness to my new head units harness. However if your swaping out a GT stock head unit for a GTS head unit, I believe that you will not need a new harness because they are both toyota steros, With my upgrade of a new stero, i did not have to mess with the ecu, nor could i have, i do not own one of those calibration devices. If you need any help... IM me on aol aim at celicaracer05 or email me at bike830@hotmail.com Once you do the stero once, you get the hang of it...

OT: a 3zz is a stroker kit made by Trial. It consists of a 1zz crank, 1zz rods, 1zz pistons and 1zz lightweight flywheel all in a 2zz motor.

It is a stroker kit which basically increases displacement from 1.8 liters to 2.0 liters by increasing stroke with optional increased compression.

ooo. how much is it?

would it be the same thing if you found a wrecked gt with the motor still intact and took out the internals a moved them to a gts?

no, because you would be reducing the compression with gt internals inside a gts engine. that's what you would do if you wanted to go turbo, (reduce compression).

you can't use the 2zz head with the 1zz block... the bore dimensions are different.

There were some threads back then about the 3ZZ. Theoretically, the GT has the F head (1ZZ"F"E) used in economy Toyota's whilst the GTS has the G head, usually found in sport models in the Toyota lineup (2ZZ"G"E, 4A"G"E). Although the cylinders wells are slighlty different in dimension between the 1ZZ and 2ZZ, changing the head involves changing everything from the block up (cams). If you want to know more, I suggest searching the forums for a 3ZZ.
