with a new hood or a hole in the existing one will the Matrix/ Corolla S/C work in the 1zz celi?  New its $2995 and used i can get one for $1500 w/ 8k on it ECU and everythin?

bro, im not sure on the gains and im sure someone else will give a better reply but if you car about the appearance of your car your better off with a turbo or waiting for something new. you'll have a tumor on your hood.
