Wondering if anyone can identify either of these problems:
I have a 2000 Celica GTS with a six speed manual
, and whenever I shift to second gear, and sometimes other gears (but mainly into second), I hear a squeaky sound under the car. Not sure if certain parts need to be lubed up, or replaced, but the car is still under manufacturer's warranty, and I was wondering if anyone can identify what is causing the problem, and if my warranty will cover it. I think the previous owner took it to the dealership to have it fixed, but they turned her away saying that there was nothing they could do to fix the problem. I think that's bullshit.
If someone could tell me what the problem could be, and what needs to be done to fix it, then maybe I can go to the dealership with some knowledge of the subject, and they won't think I'm some moron
(which I am), and turn me away.
My second problem is that I just had a new throttle installed due to some front end damage, and sometimes the pedal sticks. I'll go from idle, and step on the pedal, and then suddenly jump to 3000 RPM. It's a pain in the ass. It seems to only do this when I first get in the car, and after I drive it for a while, it goes away. But after the throttle sets in its normal inoperative position for a while, it will stick. Should I have the guy who put it in tighten the cable, or do you think this will go away after I break it in a bit? I only have about 500 miles on the new throttle.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks a lot guys...
