Well.. just putting on gauge face will cover up all except the needle..
Your needle will just be orange...

Are the LEDs illuminating from behind the gauges and if you put on an overlay over the gauges
do the lines and lettering need to be cut
out, like so the light shows thru. Somebody
explain for me. I'm realizing that I don't know
how this works.
Thanks

Yes.. LEDs illuminate throught translucent paint on the gauges..
If you get like indiglo gauge... it just covers up the whole gauge...
Only the needle will glow in color of the LED
I recomand getting reverse indiglo... with red led...
Letter and line would be light up by indiglo gauge...

Thanks for the info! After I left my
above message I found the post by Satoshi
about using OHP paper and his printer.
Seems to be a number of ways to change
the gauge apperance. I think I would go
with the easiest method.

You can put the new (not-fluorescent) gauge face with a cut on top of the old one without removing old one. But the result will not be satisfactory, because it will be much darker..
Removing the old face is not so difficult as you think.
