Just got back from Mr. Tire and I need to get replacement rotors and pads since mine are hella shot.

Does anyone know where I can purchase these? They qouted my $300 for 4 rotors and pads. If I'm going to spend that kind of money, I'd like to get an upgrade.

Can I buy brembo rotors, trd rotors? If so, where?

Thanks guys! thumbsup

Also, they said my rotors had rust pits too deep to cut out, so I NEED replacement ones.

As for the brake pads, I'd like to replace them too, if they need it or not, just because another $80 isn't that big a deal!

I don't want to do a big brake upgrade, that's like $2K I don't have.

I could spend like $500-600 on rotors/pads

Thanks man, I'll be getting those brembo's!

Now I just gotta find some decent pads. Can I go ceramic without changing calipers? or should I stick with the oem style?

Drilled/Slotted is more for Auto-X.

They do handle heat better, but they also warp prematurely.

Slotting and drilling rotor is for removing gases that occur during heavy braking. (Under heavy braking I mean braking that can be seen during auto-X) and never during emergency stopping on highway.

Just something to keep in mind. wink

Something Ive noticed is that aftermarket pads dust more than OEM pads...my rims are more dirty now then before I changed mine.

Any other place than supra store? I'd like to see the TRD rotors... confused

wow, that other place is a rip.

I found a SET of rotors for $80 and $70 (front and rear) and now trd pads for like $80

MUCH better prices.

The rotors are oem style brembo's, not slots or drilling.

Since I don't really seriously autox, and I'd never enter my car into a race for money/professional level, is the drilling slotting even worth it?

I doubt I'd notice the braking problem at speeds of less than 50 confused

Maybe If you wanna just look cool. laughsilly

They cool off better, but they also warp faster.

So decided which ones more worth it and go from there.

heh, I don't want to look like a tool who gets groceries using $600 brakes laughsilly

I'll probably just get the oem style replacement ones, keep the cost down! thumbsup

do I have to buy 2 sets of each, or does a set cover both wheels?

drilled rotors are bad. they have had a lot of the actual rotor material drilled out, and they are prone to cracking (imagine putting your brakes on, and having one of your rotors snap in half eek )

slotted are better. they cool faster than oem rotors but they still have enough material in them to last a long time. they will also help the car stop quicker, and brake fade will be reduced.
