Manual Transmission
Does anyone out there know where I can get the 6-speed manual tranny for the gts? I need a place to buy it and I got someone to put it in but any website or even a place that has a chance in selling it to me...and I'm looking for hte cheapest price but not at the expense of quality happywink

yea from Toyota and why go through the point of converting???

buy a manual GTS if you want a manual car, if not, then keep your auto.

I think that you also need the ECU from a manual car because I am pretty sure that the auto ECU is different. Good luck with the conversion. thumbsup

speaking of swap outs... do you guys think a GTS tranny would just bolt on to a GT engine? i'm using tons of gas cruising at 85 mph at 4k rpms and that 6th gear would just be awesome...

I would think that it would work. Remember this thread from a little while ago? If some one bolted a 5 speed from a GT onto the 2ZZ GTS engine, you would think that you could reverse this operation and bolt a 6 speed onto a 1ZZ GT engine.

If that doesn't work, all European GT's come with a 6 speed transmission. WCtoyota is importing the Euro GT 6 speeds, you could always just get one of those.
