ok people... i have 2 mtx thunder 8000 12" subs... what amp should i put w/ these bad boys??? prefs anyone? model #'s would be even better!!!thanx in advance. thumbsup

Yea those would be fine...those speakers have an RMS of 400...so i wouldn't go much more than 800-1000 watts

Yeah those subs are 400w @ 4 ohms

So the MTX 801d is 400w @ 4 ohms or 800w @ 2 ohms

Put the subs in parallel and you have 800w @ 2 ohms

Depending on the budget, PPI PCX-1500 or An Orion 600d, or an older Orion HCCA250r. Those should make those subs cry...
