I was considering getting some motor mounts for my car but I didn't know if I am going to be able to tell that much of a difference. The reason I have always been told to get them was that it keeps the torque (which we all have tons of) from twisting the tranny and keeping better grip on the ground. Is it a worthy upgrade? And are we talking one maybe two tenths? Also am I going to get a lot more vibration from these?

Depends on what you want out of your car. If you are into racing and getting as much performance possible, the mounts are a good mod. I wouldn't be surprised if you could shave 2 tenths off of a 1/4 time with these.

I havent gone to the track yet cause my car is getting some work done right now BUT I got my mount done by Illusive check the for sale forum. And let me tell you you notice it even at idle. The WHOLE car feels more responsive at any speed especially under heavy acceleration. also helps your shifting feel smoother! but yeah expect some good gains at the track. it's well worth it!!!

Is idle way more rough with these? If so is it tolerable?

Although I haven't got urethane mounts yet, I believe it is a worthy mod.

uhh..just to clear some things up urethane motor mount allow you to feel more vibration during idle and only really helpful on manaul car for when they need to neutral drop. it will prolly help out auto's but not by much.

So this is basically a mod if you intend to spin your tires on takeoff? Most of the time I don't (daily driver) so will this really benifit me? My goal is to make my car faster overall, even if I'm not spinning my tires. If this is the case then I might wait to get these.

its much more beneficial than "a neutral drop"

I agree dont put this on an auto, others on NCorg have and take it off immidately--very bad thing.

on the manuals since i've been running with a polyurethane mount for close to 6months. and now a back one for a week I have some experience with this.

As soon as I polyurethaned my front mount, I noticed High rpm shifting was insanely better. The feeling I used to have of forcing the tranny into gear was gone and it felt more like I was just guiding it into gear. You can equate it to normal shifting at around 3K with a filled mount feeling the same shifting around 8300 rpms.

Not to mention you get way quicker throttle response, since all that torque goes to the wheels, not rocking the motor backwards.

Vibration is very tolerable, and wont rattle your fillings out of your back teeth.

its only noticable at idle at a stop and its not very hard at all to forget about it.

It will also aide in launching your car, helping to get rid of that pesky wheel hop we all know and hate!

new to this so i was wondering why it would be bad for an auto? side effects of it?

So does that mean that you would actually get higher whp or should I say torque numbers if you had your car dynod after this?

yes and no

initially when the tech steps on the gas you should see a jump in torque(maybe 1 or 200 rpms in the form of a spike), but after that it should drop back down to what it was before.
