Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Front bumper determines gains of CAI?

Okay, this may sound stupid but does the front bumper determine wut gains we get with the CAI? When I look at the stock celica bumper and the TRD action package bumper, I see more gains with the TRD bumper based on the fact that the "mouth" is much larger which equates to more cold air being rammed into the intake. Does anyone know if this is true or am trying to be too technical?
