It raining really hard here in nyc today. On my way to work, while getting off the highway, i hit a big ass puddle at 30 mph. I few moment latter my car shut off i restarted it but i had to keep the revs above 3k to keep it on. I took it for a spin during lunch adn it starts fine but i can rev it pass 6k ang my engine lights come on. I got a full CAI intake and the filter is wet.
my questions is

will i be fine when my filter dry???

I learned the hard way today that i need to sheild my filter !!!

ohhh man your car is fucked up... IT hydrolock on u... gotta take that to the dealership... thats the problem when you have a CAI... Your intake sucked in the water, and your engine fucked...

I don't think your engine hydrolocked because if it did, your car wouldn't even start period. You'd have to buy a new engine. If you take it to the dealership, then it's gonna cost you since it was the aftermarket part that screwed you over. For future reference, purchase an air bypass valve for your intake. You'll lose power but you'll have better insurance from water logging.

I took it for another spin ... it seems to be running better the longer i drive it. Guess the filter is dry up. I took the revs up higher and after warming up i touched on lift to see if i had it. I am not sure about damage at all because it seems to be running fine but check engine light is still on. Will it go off when everything drys up or will is stay on till i take it in an some1 turns it off????

before you reset your ECU take it to auto zone, they will tell you why your check engine light is on for free, you might as well see what they say

Or you can remove (then replace, of course) the ECU fuse and not have to mess with the battery or resetting stereo settings.
