Has anybody ever modified the VVT-i RPM/shift point with or without a piggy back computer? If yes, HOW?
Thanks...

the vvt-i shift point? i hate to be blunt, but what the heck are you talking about? vvt-i is constant, you cant change it. unless ur talking about vvtl-i then thats a different thing.

I mean The Variable Valve Timing ( if I`m correct) and not the lift. This is not constant. It`s changing the intake cam timing in upper RPM. It works with oil pressure like the lift, and the ecu controlls the oil-switch. My prolem is that the signal wich is comming from the ecu is not just a ON/OFF signal, and couse of that my Greddy can`t controll that.

dood, listen to kram... vvt-i is constant... it works throughout the powerband depending on throttle position, load, and a whole bunch of other variables. it changes the intake cam timing throughout the band... hence the name variable valve timing. it's the lift feature of the gts that actually has a 'shift' point. So it changes continously? What controlls that? Oil pressure or the ECU?

i think it's both, because the timing depends on a lot of variables like going uphill, throttle position, and weather. it doesn't just rely on where you are in the rpm range. i really don't know tho

The problem is my modifyed cams. I have good results between 1000-4700 rpm and 6500-6700 rpm.( I also have to mod my rev limiter couse it cuts ignition just when the car starts to kick). My logic is that my custom in.cam lets too much air/fuel (with the oem VVT setting) between 4700-6500 rpm that the engine can`t burn. So I have to delay it. Comments, suggestions?

all i can think of is to buy an a/f ratio computer and get it proffessionally tuned to your setup. that's all i can think of.
