What's up guys!!! To begin with I bought a 2000 toyota celica gt MANUAL that had a BLOWN motor. So then I got a motor out of an 04 celica and swapped it over to my 2000 gt manual, the motor was pulled out of an AUTO celica. I noticed the vvti part on the cam looks totally different from the 2000, which makes sense with technology improving. Everything works great but I keep getting the vvti sensor code, I done put my vvti solenoid from the 00 motor and also installed a spanking brand new 1 and still same code, I do have the 04 ECU which I believe would work better with my 04 engine but the problem is that my car is manual and the 04 ecu is auto. I have done similar work on a civic I had, all it took was to delete a small resistor in the ECU and BAMM lol, HERE is the question, is there anyway to work with the AUTO ecu with my car being manual? Any modification that can be done to 04 auto ecu to work?
