Celica Forums General Discussion Interior '03 GT with leather seats?

Bought an '03 GT about a year ago. The car has a complete black leather interior in excellent shape. I was reading on Edmunds and a few other sites that only the GT-S was available with leather in 2003, does anyone know if this is bs or not? Just curious.

for north america this is true. but it's very easy to swap seats between a gt and gts. though, gts seats will also have the side impact air bags built in to them. the stock gt seats do not offer this option.

Thanks for the info, I'm guessing the dealer tried to dress it up at some point.

Other than the dealer you recently purchased your Celica from, It could have also probably been the previous owner.

Your door panels should also match the same as your front and rear seats.

If your front seats do not match the same material as your rear seats, its obvious that they had been swapped from another Celica at some time (or reupholstered). This could have been due to water damage, a stained/destroyed seat, or just a replacement by previous owner for personal preference.

The stock Celica GT door panel insert is cloth/mesh:
