Lately my car has been reving to 2000 RPM and stays there when in neutral. When accelerating, it feels as if my engine is trying to accelerate more than what I am used to (jumping feeling). Also, when in park, my car will rev from 1000 to 2000 RPM, back and forth. Now, my last issue is more recent and happens everyday now. I'm assuming that there is something wrong with my transmission but I have no clue. If anyone has experienced this problem, I would appreciate some insight; or if someone could refer me to a professional Toyota mechanic in the Orlando, FL area.

I actually just had the same issue with my 2002 Celica GT and it was the throttle position sensor(40 bucks). The throttle body itself is 200, luckily for you it sound like it's the sensor which is easy to replace. Unless you are slipping and skipping in gears its not the tranny. And if your wondering about oil consumption, it's common in 2000-2001 gt cars.
