Hi there, my name is Wesley and I just bought a (standard) 2002 Toyota Celica GT as a 15 year old. The car is complete stock other than the cold air intake. It's been burning oil which I have seen that it is a common issue. I was wondering what engine to replace it with, because my dad has a friend that's a mechanic. I've been researching both the 3sgte engine and the 2zz, there are so many people with different opinions.
So I'm going to get straight to the point. I have a budget of 2000 right now, because I only work weekends. I need to know whether or not any of those 2 motors require modifications under the hood to fit the engine. I know I would need to switch the axles and the clutch because of the power. So do I need to rip apart and modify engine mounts or can it fit? The other question was that the 3sgte motor had an intercooler on the top that said, 2000 intercooler turbo. I was wondering if the turbo is under of whether or not I would need a kit? Or if I just got the 2zz engine and swapped it, could it handle a turbo and can it fit one?

Question 1: Do I need to rip apart the inside of the engine mounting area to fit the 3sgte engine?

Question 2: Does the 3sgte motor come with a turbo or is that just the intercooler on top?

Question 3: Could I swap my burning oil stock 1zz engine with a 2zz engine and put a small turbo on it without putting the motor on the line?

Thanks to anybody who answers. Hopefully it's not a headache for you fans of the Celica.
