My 2000 Celica, lost power the other night, when they finally got it started back up, it was making a horrible noise....I am going with a piston or rod, the oil was reading nothing but after a qt was added it was reading full.....all in the same night! Replaced the battery today, dead cell...
Had to keep replacing oil every 3-4 weeks, qt here, qt there....no oil marks where I park...nothing...any thoughts?? Please, this is my only vehicle and this car has ALOT of meaning to me, I brought it home from Florida when my father passed 8 years ago and I REALLY DO NOT want to loose it!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!
Any help would be GREAT!!! I am very handy with fixing my own car...not sure about this though!!!

I believe it's something to do with the oil return in the bottom of the Pistons getting clogged up and causing you to burn the oil, but I don't know if that causes actual power loss. From what I've heard the engine needs to be taken apart and the oil return holes cleaned out. I remember my dad telling me about that possible issue when I got my 2001 celica. He still tells me to check my oil on a regular basis which at this point has become routine😂. Anyway it's unfortunate to hear, it could be something else but most likely the oil return is clogged.
