Celica Forums General Discussion Engine and Performance Not getting fuel, help!

I just bought a 2000 celica gts. The guy i bought it from said he drove it back and fourth to work and one day it wouldnt start. I looked at the car and the fuel rail is bone dry. I unscrewed the gas cap and absolutely no pressure. What could be the problem?

Inspect your fuel pump.

Does the 2000 celica gts have a fuel shut off switch?

No stock Celica 7th gen (2000-2005 US) have fuel shut off switches.

And what if i put in a new fuel pump and still notging? Ive checked the fuses and relays.

Before replacing the old one, inspect if it is even working as expected.
If its not working, replace it.
If it is working then further inspection is needed, to determine where the fuel is being blocked at.

Inspecting your fuel pump is the most obvious part to check first.

I have a 00 gts vvt i, i have compression, spark and air, the motor cranks over but wont start. Could this be that the timing is off? Help please!!!

00 gts vvtl-i i have spark, compressiin, and fuel to the injectors, but tge injectors are not opening. Tried starting fluid but still wont start! What could be causing this!?
