Missing wire from engine what is it ?

Just bought a 2000 gts have some little issue. My check engine light dosent show up when starting the car up and other minor light problem in the car. Wonder what this hole is for on the engine. It seems like a ground wire that should be there but I don't know for what.

It grounds the manifold to the chassis.

Have a quick look at #11 in this upgrade guide.
