The stitching for my stock knob was deteriorating and an OEM replacement is expensive so I made my own. It is made from Bocote wood and has a cured superglue finish. It has a UHMW-PE plastic insert for the threads just like the stock knob. No shift pattern on the top but actually this acts like a security system. When I went to get an inspection sticker the other day the guy couldn't find reverse.
