I was caught off guard by the oil burning situation in my 2002 Celica GT and ending up damaging the engine to the point where the engine should be replaced, what year of engines can i go with besides the obvious of 2002 and should i go with 2003 because apparently the oil burning issue was fixed

I don't see why there would be any difficulties among swaping any of the celica gt engines as long as they have the same transmission such as an AT or MT. If there were compatibility issues 00-02's and 03-05's would belong with each other.I don't believe that is the case though.
