So today I discovered that right behind the mount on the exhaust side of the transmission broke off. frown When it broke off it took the bolt and piece of the the aluminum case with it. So rather then spend 1000-1500 for a used Transmission I have got an idea. I am planning on taking a 01 Celica GT MT transmission where the 2nd gear is ground right out, and cracking it open. Once it is open i am planing on removing all the internal gears and parts cleaning it real well then starting the dirty work. I will be replacing bearings for start. then taking the transmission with the hole in it cracking that one carefully. Replace the syncros(not sure the spelling) and clean it all up nice and placing the good internals inside of the good case I have. sealing it back up and throwing her back in.

Now that you know the plan I am pretty confident in dirt bike transmission. I've cracked man of dirt bike crank cases to fully rebuild them. how much different can a car really be. I found all the complete part breakdowns right on this very helpful website, just like I use when I do a dirt bike or ATV case.

so really what I'm looking for is advice, tips, tricks, heads up, look out for this look out for that, know that you should do this ect. watch out for this little spring here type information. you know from people who have done this before and have a little incite to spread on my dim dim celica transmission workshop haha.

this is my first post here on celica hobby! although I regularly check out the information.
Thanks for your help in advance and i look forward to hearing from all of you!
