I hit a pot hole and broke my cv joint tonight how much is the price for one? anyone know?

CV stands for "constant velocity"; its the joint on the front axle that distributes power to the front wheels.

Pretty much I think they sell the joint + axle as an integrated unit. I don't know the specific price for a Celica, but for most cars they're $200-$300. Labor to install is probably going to be around another $100; a Toyota dealer will charge more. Most good shops will do that for you; you don't have to take it to a Toyota dealer, although it might be better if a dealer does it if the car is under warranty.

It's where the drive shaft flexes on a front wheel drive car; it is covered by a boot with ribs. The boot traps grease in it, and ceeps it clean. (The boot is held in place by thin metal clamps)

if im not wrong about wut you are talking about, i believe the price is around CND$200... that would be around US$170. labour about US$50 - US$75 i believe...

sometimes you can buy rebuilt cv joints for cheaper than 200-300

i know my cracked boot cost $180 to get fixed at the toyota dealership. cry
