Hi fellow Celica lovers,

Just wanted to ask... anyone who has the Tanabe Upper strut bar... have you run into any problems installing the bar because of the battery terminals being too close?

Because I tried to install the bar, but the battery terminals were too close to the bar and shorted out and killed my battery... I have an AC delco battery, which is slightly bigger than the stock... but there are not that many batteries out there that are small but have enough power to start the car... please help...

I have an ACDelco battery as well with RMM strut bar and yeah the terminals are close. the RMM bar at least actually holds the battery down well despite tight manuevers, though I do plan to get a tie-down that fits. no shorts as the plastic cover on the positive terminal is on tight. things are aligned in such a way that the bar would not push the plastic cover off. though my combo of RMM bar with my model of ACDelco may be just a bit...I'll say "safer" than the combo you have. I'll take a pic of my bar/battery tomorrow.

I get my kicks on EC.
