Celica Forums General Discussion Engine and Performance Optima Yellow Top

hey guys...sorry if this has been posted before. i did a search but couldnt find anything. Finallygonna replace my stock battery afterwork today and was gonna go for an optima yellowtop. Im a little confused as to what size i need. Thanks in advance for any help.

As far as I know with the yellow tops, they make two sizes. They make the bigger size, that fits in most domestic cars and trucks, and there is a version for imports which is smaller (obveously). The only one i've seen at the local auto zones and discount autos around here are the bigger size, and I "think" the bigger size will fit in the celica's. I believe the cold cranking amps on the bigger ones is about 590 with a reserve capacity of 90.

You can also go with a red top with will be about $30-$40 cheaper and should be good enough for a a daily drive with out a lot of high power accessories. The only difference is that the yellow top has deep cycle capability, meaning it can be completely drained and recharged more times then a non deep cycle battery.

Ahhhh thanks for informing me bout the differences inferno.. guess ill be goin for the red top since Im only running a 1200 and a 250 watt amp.
