I thought I'd learn something new so I took my front bumper off (BuddyClub body kit), slapped the factory one back on for the time being, and went to work. Im getting it preped for a new paint job, The problem is, I DON'T KNOW WHAT THA HELL IM DOING... A few tips here and there isn't helping me much. I don't know what Im doing right or wrong so I thought I'd give you all a look @ what I have been up to.

OK, I started with this... Its Called Peeler... It says it removes automotive clear coat and base coat without harming the primer... I gave the whole bumper a shot of this stuff and the paint basically flaked right off. "If U really wanna fuck someones car up really bad, this would b the stuff 2 do it with. A LOT BETTER THAN KEYS..." but U didn't hear that from me... wink

After removing the flakey paint off of the bumper, I started sanding using a P320 grit 3M Imperial Wetdry sandpaper.. Im wasn't sure if I was to sand it wet or dry so I did it dry.

all i can say is once clear coat has me painted... let it dry and fully cured...take up to several weeks... then wet sand it using your 1K grit then buff it.

one word of advice. don't use cheap primers! i remember using a brand like that a year ago. the primer would dry in with like a saw dust type of finish.. & it flaked off..

before you prime, make sure you wash the surface with kerosine or thinner. that should take out the grease or oily substance sticking on the surface. people are complaining why paint chips or flakes of it's because the surface isn't properly clean. Once you clean or wipe the surface thoroughly... never let anyone touch it or go any where close to it. not even a breath... oil substance from your hands can stick to the surface... goodluck man, always have patience.
