Can a 2001 gts engine work perfectly fine if swapped into a 2000 gts body? are there any sensors to the 2001 engine that may have to be changed in order to work properly with the 2000 body and ecu?

some other questions..will lift still work properly? will the rev limiter be brought back down to 7800rpm since its a 2001 engine or it will stay at 8300rpm since its the 2000 ecu and body?

it should be the exact same engine, if the ecu was the only thing changed from '00-'01. The engine bay and wiring harness should be exactly the same too.

In other words, the ECU's not gonna say, "oh hey, this is an '01 engine, I should adjust the rev limiter!" And the engine's not gonna say, "ahhh, my brain's from an '00...must...keep...rev-limit...at 7800!"

2000 and 2001 GTS' have the same rev limiter of 8400 and redline of 7800. 2002 GTS' are the ones with the early revlimter.
