I was at barnes and noble reading an issue of Dsprot (please donn't ask why...lol) when i happened to read an add complete with a 03' GTS dyno (apparently it has no issues with the DBW)of some VVT-I controller that seemd to gain 7whp peak (and gains throughout the powerband) . too good to be true? it had a website but i can't seem to remember what it was or the name of the product. it looked like a piggy back but i'm unsure...

if anyone has any info weather this thing is a dud or not let me know...i've been on google trying to locate this thing to see what it was...and no luck.

Yeah, I saw that in the new products section of the new Sport Compact Car mag. They refered to it in use for the 2zz of the Lotus, which is of course the same motor as the GTS. They said that alone will add 9 hp to the 2zz motor. I was going to post about it for the GTS people of the site. You beat me to it.

who wants to be the guinea pig, I guess it would be a good alternative to a PFC or e-manage, but i would think the ECU would compensate for the changes brought by this thing

Yes, I'm definitely down to test this out, as soon as it's available that is. The distributor is just beginning to gear up for a release, and it's also so new, the manufacturer's site barely has any info on it.

apperently they had a dyno of a base 03' @ 152whp. with this thing "piggy" plugged in it's final peak numbers were 159whp with continous gains throughout the band. of course this was not an independant dyno...

if this works for the autos it will be a blessing(i think)
does this also let you enage lift earlier?
i know on manuals if they lower there lift engagement there wasnt any benifits from it

but if this works for an auto gts iam all for it

iam setting my lift @ 5k-5.5k, way to keep it at lift grin tongue

This is good news for 03+ owners, if it really does work, cause we can't use the PowerFC. Since this is piggyback, I hope this ain't something that the stock ECU will override within a week of installing it. thumbsdown

Does anybody here read japanese? Cause they don't have an english page on this product on there website.

http://www.power-enterprise.co.jp/

Wonder what other info they provide there on this box?

I've Emailed them and ask them directly if it will work on 03+ USDM Celica GTS. Hope to see what they have to say.

even if this thing does work your theory is flawed.

there is a reason we don't engage lift that low. it's not because there are 0 gains.. It's becaues you lose an a$$ load of power. you'll lose 20-30 whp or more garaunteed. that will negate everything you were tryingg to accomplish. wink
