well as we all know, a trd supercharger works on a gt..but the hood will not close because there is no space...but what if we did something custom with the hood like the eclipses had like this

you can bearly see the "bump" [Linked Image from carad0.ipixmedia.com]

i think many people will be interested in this, what is your input? bad idea? good idea? any changes in mind? will it work?

For one, someone already started a topic like this. Also, there is still no proof that the supercharger does not fit, just rumors. In the case that it doesnt fit i think an eclipse style hood might be a good alternative. I was thinking that maybe something like the vis xtr hood would look the best because its symmetrical thumbsup

the idea has been thought of and i think it would be an easy fix to the problem. all we need is a model celi and someone to make the hood.

I'm not making fun of it, I just can't believ it sticks out as far as it does. As for the celica having a tumor that's not cool thumbsdown Give the guy credit, he wanted something on his car that needed modification and he came up with something to solve the problem thumbsup

Im trying to picture how to make that work...there has to be a way...

maybe just make the whole hood taller? with a bigger hood scoop to even it out?

By taller I mean a bigger arch...

mature? ok, heres my opinion, look at that eclipse, notice the lump is not all that tall or big, it goes with the flow of the car in fact, look at the Celica is just plain ugly but if i was going for that setup, id rather make the hole on the hood and let the supercharger stand out so everybody can see it, car show only but this will effect everyday driving with regards to the rain...

this thing was made to post opinions, right?
damn...the pride of a celica is in its beauty...to drive by and watch people turning their heads to look at your amazing car...
I dont know about you guys, but I dont want people to turn their heads and look at a tumor like that with their face like WTF... wtf

Yea Dad, whatever you say! Its an honest opinion, the only way id sacrafice the look of my car in such a hidious way is if I was strictly racing it. Other then that why do that. id rather have a mercury cougar with 12inch wheels that are offset by 10 inches with a full windshield rearview mirror and chrome trim all around then that car with a huge ass bump in the front. So you nicely said don't make fun of it and I nicely did...sorry. Life goes on. I'm sure im not the only one with this opinion. Have a nice day.

And I'm not trying to come off as rude man but come on, we all know and its common knowledge that that supercharger will work with the celica engine so its not like this guy is a pioneer or something. I give him props for doing it but as far as my opinion on the whole thing... I just wouldnt have done that. And I don't think any hood could be fabricated that would ever flow right with the SC jutting up that high. And I totally agree with someone saying that it would look better with out the cover on it but im sure it wouldnt be a safe thing to do. However maybe if you had a removable tumor cover it would be pretty cool. Any way I'll shut up now I may have offended someone and I don't want to hurt no soft heart people.

Why limit what people say, thats the diversity of it all, plus you people know you love it when sh*t starts getting heated cause thats when the best opinions come out! Am I right? You should never even consider closing a post until someones life is threatened smile

Hell, I would think that it would look killer with the supercharger stickin out and it would prob be the same amount of work to make a rubber lip that sealed out the rain. As opposed to that big fiberglass bubble all painted and sealed. Especially with a nice TRD SUPERCHARGER plate (or something similiar) on there.

Not to mention that if it was raining, it would cool the intake temp.

wink

It would be definitely cool to have but i am not sure if i want to compensate with the looks. That does not appeal to me. Secondly IMO a car should always encapsulate its power...so everyone keeps guessing how powerful it is..
Thats just me.. tongue
