My trunk rattles like crazy. I mean its bannanas. Ive tried anything and everything from putting rubber pads on the lic. plate to dyno mat and i even took off the spoiler and that wasnt it. Sorry if this isnt the rite area to post this but justneed a lil help from other ppl with celica problems as mine.
same problem here too, it mainly comes from the License Plate and the trim... I guess if you take thos out it will stop, but you cant do that. Maybe even dynomat. keep us posted if you do come across a solution
After almost causing damage , i figured it out. The plate is a small part the other two are the "Gas tank Lid" and the "hatch door handle" I will drill two extra holes for the plate but as for the other two still dont know how to get rid of it. Anyway thanks for your help everyone...
my gas tank cover used to rattle but it stopped and i didnt do anything hehehe...as for the plates I just folded paper towel and put it behind the License Plate and it stopped the rattles. But the hatch still rattles...
i put some of that foam weather stripping between my plate frame and the actual plate and it stopped that from rattling but the hatch handle is the biggest problem of all. im still dynomating so hopefully it will help a little.
I have a large ported box with a 10" JL W7. My deck rattled like crazy. I had the whole thing lined with Dynamat and dynamat on the inside of the fuel door and behind the plate and added two screws to the bottom of the plate. Worked for the plate and the fuel door. The back still rattles just 40 percent of what it did. If I face the woofer and box toward the front it doesnt rattle as bad but you loose loudness. If it is faceing the back my window looks like it is about to come out. There is no way to stop that much rattling. Dynamat is the only thing that helped me. If their is any other way let me know.
I just noticed today that apart from all the other rattles my fricking door handle rattles ... and that too with stock speakers ... i've got the GTS though ... so im assuming that they are jbl's .. but its still too much of rattling ... Though this car is a real bombshell
Have you guys read the TSB's posted on the site ??? There are solutions to rattles from the sunroof visor, front of the car and the hatch ... i still havent got to working on it ... but it might be helpful ...
when i tried to locat my rattle i thought it was the trunk moldimg where it says CELICA but it was actually imside where the trunk actuator is.. its that thing thats rattlin in my 2001 gt but havent found a way to stop it without compromising the trunk lock
