one of these protests was put together in 2000 and ran until 2002 with more than 5,000 replies from Celica owners/enthusiasts. in each reply was the member's first name & last, year make and model of their car, plus the members city, state and contact email address.
it has been over 3 years since this was first put together and nothing much has really been done since.
the reason I think this topic is funny is because if you look at all the parts available for this car from aftermarket companies, you can pretty much find anything you need to make it the car you want - someone earlier posted, "you have to pay to play", this is what that comment basically means
Basically, Toyota feels that although many car enthusiasts have enjoyed the sporting Celica over the years, it's just not pulling its weight these days because it's getting beaten up by the likes of the Matrix, Corolla XRS, Solara coupe and the whole damn Scion line.
The Celica was born in 1971 and had a hand in establishing the speedy subcompact segment, and was named Import Car of the Year and put on Car and Drivers Ten Best Cars list during its lifetime. http://pressroom.toyota.com/photo_library/display_release.html?id=20040716Toyota stops Celica production by the end of the ˜05 model year. Get a 40 ready so you can pour some out for your fallen homies
on a side note, lets get a bunch of people to write to Toyota and have them bring back the 7th gen so they can make more parts for it
