I was wondering was to what the highest offset could be that would still be appropriate both in function and looks.

Is 48 too much? 17" ADR Formula 5 is the wheel.

yeah, it will stick inside the wheel well alot..kinda makes you look lowered without being lowered. try sticking to 35-40
