i hope it is not just my car but my tach is very inaccurate! some times when i shift into a nother gear, the needle has a real springly bounce to it. and when i shift...after taking my foot off of the gas, then pushing in the clutch, the RPMs still jump like 500 RPMs! any one have any knowledge on this subject? if so ...thanks! thumbsup

There's a ton of members here who have experienced the same phenomena, with the tach slighlty 'bouncing' upward after deploying the clutch.

I've written this off as just one of those sweet old Celica engineering and design mysteries...along with:

- the wondrous "Fuel Door" light
- the auto door lock button on the center console, where a puppy (for example) inside the car can easily lock you out by walking on it

If all else fails, check your fuses.
