I like the feel of a perfect shift; when you clutch just right and you glide to the next gear so smoothly and quickly that you almost wonder if you actually did push the clutch in all the way, and the car doesnt so much as flinch as you keep accelerating.

Somebody else think of one.

I love the feeling when you enter a curve really fast and you can feel the weight shifting to the outside and the seat is just holding your body until you exit the curve and you feel like you just came out of space. Damn I love the touge

i guess that this is not a zen moment but while on the subject of winding roads...i love that shear look of terror and the frantic grabing of "oh shit" handles when your passenger thinks that you are going to flip and wreck the celi while going into a posted 20 mph curve at about 60 mph or faster shocked! that is the shit! that is my zen moment!

even better for me, cause i'm a girl (no offence to any of the girls on here) some girls don't drive canyons extremely aggressively. i do, and a lot of the time, my male passengers get scared thumbsup
then when we're stopped to let the brakes cool off, they're like "oh i wasn't scared..i was enjoying it" hah BS!!

I don't think many of you have had a moment like mine. Maybe some of the first gen guys like Ron (CID) and Celidrfiter have but for me its the moment right as the rear wheels break lose and you begin a drift. It feels like your weightless for that one instant. And if followed up right it and you keep control the adrenaline that kicks in is euphoric.

My zen moment is when I'm flooring it and I get a quick launch and a chirp in the 1-2 shift, then look down and before I know it I'm at 60.

yep and that's what's called double clutching, it's the only way to down shift and keep the most control [/color]

Not true. Double clutching is clutching, shifting to neutral, letting off the clutch, rev matching, letting on the clutch, then shifting to the new gear. You are referring to rev matching.

My zen is when you have a straight road that elevates up and down like a rollercoaster and you go full speed and as soon as you hit the peak of the road you feel weightless and go down. Then the butterflies kick in.

Hrm I'd have to say a perfect heel toe downshift while trail breaking into a corner and releasing the break at the exact right time only to apply throttle immidiately after...

another one I like is full throttling out of low speed corners with 0 wheel slippage (lsd's rock wave ) or making a U turn in 1st at WOT cool

Definately dont like taking passengers along with me unless they enjoy the twisties as much as I do and fully trust my ability, because I can get to tear jerking slow the hell down speeds (5th gear in lift turns will do that wink )

Mine is when you're approaching a turn and you're going like 40mph. Rev match and downshift to 2nd gear and let the engine brake down a bit and then take the turn hard. Then pull the e-brake. grin I love how the back slides out and your practically drifting,... then you countersteer and bone the hell out of there, leaving a nice curvy skidmark.

in my celica gts auto with the sports shift (e-shift) my zen is going up to an S bend in 4th gear about 130-140km/h then down shift to secon (no breaks) witch slows you to about 80-100km/h at about 6000rpm then full throttle untill red line shift up in the middle of the S then back off shift down to second bout 6000 rpm then full throttle through the corner (usally on the wrong side of the road depending on witch way im turning) then shift up to third redline untill 4th PS i love that suttle squeeling nois of the tires make the passenges shit em selvs

AND THATS MY ZEN BABY!!! AND I LOVE IT!! thumbsup
