yes well if yu get a turbo then it will be a must. but regular street driving won't demand it but will be a welcome help in stopping power. i would suggest a kit by Rotora, they use Axxis pads and stainless steel brake lines, with a 4 piston caliper. Great brakes. come in REd or blue. PM me bat and i can hook you up for a little over $900 with special edition gunmetal calipers.

I believe Rotora is just for show. Not race quality.

brembro is really good, but the price is WAY up there, you could get a turbo for less that the front and rear break kit.

After reading this article...
https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=57305

my fav quote is...

Quote
** 6. BETTER BRAKES
Don't forget stopping your car. Replace your tired drum brakes with disc brakes and/or install performance brake pads. Never skimp on your brakes - they could save your life.

I also like this article...

Step # 8 grin
Quote
Step 8. Brakes
Now you got you lil pocket rocket rollin you need to stop all of that power. There are three basic things you need to do when preforming this mod. You need Bigger Brake Rotors, ( drilled and slotted rotors from AEM ) New and better Calipers and Brake Pads ( you can also buy these from AEM )

HP Gains:N/A
Companies: Brembo, AEM, Baer, Power Slot, Wilwood.

Brembo if you want to spend some good money...
TRD for the medium kind of money.
AEM for the cheaper stuff.

Stay away from crossed-drilled rotors. They may look cool but will prematurely wear out your brake pads. The holes shear away your pads kind of like the way a cheese grater shreds cheese. On top of that, drilled rotors can crack and split because of the inherent weakness in their design.Slotted rotors are much better and don't contribute as much wear and they won't warp and crack .You're probably going to say "But I see some racing teams that use cross drilled rotors." Their reason for this is weight reduction, plus they're sponsored so they can replace pads anytime they want at no cost. That isn't the case with everyday drivers like us. Gets to be real expensive in a short amount of time.
