So I'm between the TRD exhaust and Apexi. How would I install the TRD without the resonator if I got that. If I got Apexi, do they have a bolt on system? I just want a bolt on system because I might sell the car in the future and don't want to cut up the exhaust. I also want a bolt on so that I can do it myself.

^lol. Yeah TRD is very nice...but if you want to buy a spanking NEW one...then you might as well get TPR...unless u're a TRD nut. The advantage of a TRD exhaust besides that it's TRD is just that you can find em used for $200-$300 pretty readily.

Does anyone have any pics of TPR? Also, checked ebay for cheap TRD, no such luck, where can I find em for a good price used?

ya, I checked out Apexi's website, deffinately going with either TRD or TPR, way better gains. How would I install TRD without the resonator, and will it still be sound legal in Cali?

I bought a TRD not too long ago, and love it. Not too loud, but loud enough to know you've got one.

Why in the world would you install it without a resonator? It's only going to make it raspy and nasty sounding, and you will not gain ANY power.

no it provides it with a louder, lower tone.

ya, I guess the resonator idea is kinda stupid, but I did manage to find a sound clip of the TPR on here, sounds similar to TRD, but personally, the TRD sounded better, deeper tone and less buzzy sounding.

Thats interesting, I've had numerous reports of TPR sounding deeper than TRD. And thats not accounting for muffler breaking in...it gets even deeper than that...

Consider the quality of the recorder when listening online. I'll be taking vids soon...

the resonator is another muffler under your car. helps keep the noise down and some other stuff. Its located kinda in the middle of your exhaust line. I was gonn a have mine removed when I got my trd exhaust but decided against it because I didnt want to mess the beautiful sound of my TRD up.

cant say ive done that before... ahh crap

thats the two clips I heard, but I think Easy_C may be right, I think the quality of the recording of the TPR is bad. Still, I would like to get a TRD, because people say you can get it used for 2 or 300. Where, besides ebay, could I find a used TRD?

That sound recording is still coming back to haunt me. lol..

I'll post a video probbly tonight.

I've driven both, heard both. TPR is SLIGHTY deeper. I'm sure my customers can attest to that as well

In all fairness, it's hard to REALLY hear what they sound like based on those clips. Just revving them is a LOT different than being on the road, pulling on the highway. The TRD seems a lot louder & ballsier on the road, as I'm sure the TPR is as well.

Here's some pics of my car's rear. It's a TRD standard length with a TRD rear valence...

Here's some more pics I snapped today.
