Just been on a track day with my Celica T-Sport (190).
Had so much fun racing around. Toyota has set-up the suspension really well as it tends to understeer or neutrally drift when pushed. I was saying to my passenger that I was amazed how predictable the car was and that the back end was sticking like glue to the road. As soon as I said this my concentration was effected for a second and I left the braking too late. I went in to the corner on the breaks trying to brake from 110mph down to about 45mph for a tight right hand corner. I went in at about 60mph still on the brakes and the back started to come round. Not even an armful of opposite lock could stop the spin and myself and the passenger ended up doing two 360s before skidding to a stop. Didn't hit anything luckily.

Only car today which was similar power/weight wise was a Honda Integra Type R. To start with he was slightly faster as he was on his own in the Honda. I dumped my passenger and the cars were then evenly matched. Only difference was who was prepared to brake later. At first it was the integra guy who was the faster of the two of us but once I got used to the track and had become significantly faster he had gone. Sure I surprised a few people with the speed which the celica can do.

It was an amazing day. All I have to do now is replace 2 front tyres as they have gone from 75% tread to about 10% and get a puncture repaired on a rear tyre.

Highly recommend going on a track day.

Some pictures, sorry about the quality, my friend hadn't used my camera before.

I wish there was a track here in Eastern Arkansas! I would love to try that! What fees did you have to pay to use the track? Did you have to prep the car?

It was fantastic.
Fees were 95 for use of the track etc.
100 for insurance as most insurance companies do not cover track days. Not compulsary or anything but better to be safe than sorry.
2 new front tyres and a puncture repair on one rear tyre as I ran over a nail!
3/4 of a tank of fuel.

Quite expensive day all in all but not many things more fun than the car sliding at 100mph and that feeling of satisfaction when you control the slide and floor the throttle down the straight to get to the next corner.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes.
Creep1234 I was one of the slowest cars even though I drive a 190hp version. Only other cars which were similar were things like a Golf GTI and a Honda Integra Type R. Everything else was 300+ hp such as Subaru, Skyline etc. Doesn't matter though because still have a massive amount of fun.

The car is actually a lot lighter in color but it got so dirty there, you wouldn't believe it.
