Anyone ever seen or know where to get a shift gate like the one on this German Celica owner's car? Although it is highly likely that it is a custom job. S

Some people might not like it; but it Seems like it could prevent allot of missed shifting.

First step might be to make one out of cardboard, establish a template, and then do a cutout in sheet metal.

It look to me like its part of the center console and thats why it would cost so much to ship and to make since youre basically making a new center section

no its not. all it is is a sheet of metal that is slid between the boot and the console. it is just expensive to make a few of those cut, and chromed. His are really nice and fancy and only 2 of its kind. so thats why its so expense thumbsup I asked him way back all about it, but i cant make anything in a dorm wink That and i have no idea how to make it rofl

i know for a fact they won't fit the gts and prety sure the gt is sscrewed also this is all for a true shift gate where the shifter actually fits into the slots

theres been 4 posts about this already look back in my old post's you'll see them

yes i tired to make one the actuall patern that close to our shifter will be a square no slots

now i should say mine was for a gts but i doubt there is much diffrence on shifter location
the pivot point of the shifter is jsut too close to where the gate would be

if you look at it, the stick doesnt go into the gate, it stops right before it so technically you can make it, but it'll only be for looks unless you can make the stick skinnier
