im really worried about my brakes..it raining outside. When i went to my car this morning, i found that it had rust on teh front disc brakes..it was fine when i arrived at the parking lot earlier today..is this normal????

Yepp it is very normal , when you will drive again when it's not raining it will clean the disc when you apply the brakes

I use to worry about that too. I've seen my rotors looking pretty nasty. After one good brakeing, clean as a whistle. I think this has a lot to do with the squealing people hear when they first back up after the car's been sitting.

yeh..its ok now, im back home safe..yep the thing just comes off in just a few brake applications..tis all good..thanks for ur input.. thumbsup

What is that rotor made from that it rusts in half a day? Thank god the whole car isn't made of that material. grin

I put a few coats of high-heat paint on the rotors when I did my calipers...no rust, looks awesome!! wink

yeah i actually just had this problem happen to me the other day. I poured wated on them and applied the brakes a bit and they came clean.

The rust is no big deal; whenever I wash my car the discs get a little rusty; the first time the brakes get applied after that, the discs get cleaned off.

That's a fact, untreated exposed metal will rust.
