Whats the difference between AEM CAI gen1 and gen2?
How can someone distinguish the two by just looking??

i found 1 post about that talking about bypass valves but nothing about the look of the two... when you buy one how can you tell if its 1st or 2nd gen?

basically its the same thing...but the 1st gen intake didn't come with a C.A.R.B. sticker.

GEN 2 also has the MAF mount in a different location

GEN 2 is a bitch when you want to clean the MAF. You have to take the whole intake out.

Maf placement is facing the inside of the car on a gen 2. also the gen 2 has a carb sticker.

thats the easiest ways to tell.

I'd post a pic using mine but I choped off the end and re-welded the maf holder on so that it wasnt such a pita to clean the maf lol
