those of you with Grounding Kit, after you install the kit does it make any difference? another question when you connect the kit to negative terminal do you still connect the old negative wire back to the terminal or just the new wire(kit)?

I dunno about feeling any difference, I hardly notice anything, lol. But I still connect the old negative wire back + new wire.

i gave me a dyno'd tested 27hp to the wheels wink not to mention torque grin

just joking rofl i don't even have a grounding kit yet. but i do believe you want both new and old negative wires connected

i got the grounding wires from teamcelica a while back. they just made the car seem a bit stronger and less likely to stall than before. scc did a thing on grounding kits a while back and it looked like the car gained like 5%-7%

are you talking 'bout wires or a real grounding kit like kuwano dps metal plus? i thought with those kits you had to try them all over to find the optimum mounting point? and without dyno testing each area, how would you find the optimum grounding point to place the box?

there's install guide for ground kit in the installation section. did you connect the old negative back to the terminal?

the grounding kits give a consistant of 1-2 WHP just because the spark in the engine will be stronger. The connection to the frame will be stronger.

No true actually, the grounding kit is used for starting better and clear energy transmission, it doesnt give you magic hp

^^ it's not supposed 2. but dynos DO show a consistent 1-2 whp gain though. i can't figure it out either bro, but it does.

It's not going to hurt anything if you connect the old one as well as the new ones, I did an it runs just fine.

With my kit I noticed the engine starts quicker than before, noticed a slight power increas as well.

keep the old negative plugged into the battery, then you should run 2 of the ground wires off of that. one from the negative to the frame on the side of the car (driver side), then one to the transmission, tranny to block, block to other side of block, then block to other side of frame (passenger side. but do keep the old grounding wire hooked to the battery. look in the install section for the specific locations.

I totally removed the stock groundwires. They're redundant.

your adding the wires for a purpose if you take the factory wires away wouldn't the grounding kit doi just about the same as oem?? wouldn't be the same as factory but only a differnt route?

Doubt it all you want; I'm in tune enough with my vehicle to notice.

On cold mornings I can feel that slight increase in power vs a hot afternoon; that difference is but a few horses.

When the dealership put a GT oil filter on my GTS by mistake my first tip off that something was wrong was the engine felt ever so slightly more sluggish, again this difference was likely only 1 or 2 hp. Its a matter of perception.

As long as you have a good (new) ground connection to the body/chassis with your new ground wires, you don't need to keep the old one. I suggest remove old one, and put a new 4 gauge wire for replacement.

Not true. It has been shown time and time again that grounding kits consistently generate anywhere from a 2-4hp gain. see below.

NOT for a 1.8L Celica.

^^ nope. expect 1-2 whp max for our cars...and it's just as likely that you'll lose 1-2 whp as well (it works both ways). the only way to be sure is to have a dynonameter on hand and keep playing with the grounding locations

You aren't gonna feel the difference...and 1-2 WHP is within the margin of error of a dyno, so it may not even be possible to dyno-tune the grounding locations. I've heard that the bigger gains are in low and mid-range torque, but again these gains are within the margin of error.

What you will notice are your brighter lights, louder sound system, and (in some cases) a smoother idle. I still can't believe how my stock system can pump as loud as it does - obviously not like an amp and subs, but definitely enough to put my friend's headunit to shame.
