I was wondering if it is possible to bore out the throttle bodies on our cars. I have not seen any aftermarket ones and was looking to see if I could increase the air flow a little bit. Has anyone had theirs off yet? I am going to take mine off this weekend and see if anything can be done. Also how do you clean the MAF, I have a sink full of hot soapy water that I was going to dunk it in but then my "smart" reflex kicked in and said "bad Idea Steve" but seriously, has anyone done this before?

regarding the maf sensor: DO NOT USE SOAP AND WATER. it's a very delicate (and expensive) small piece of equipment. the sensor can damage easily. use isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip to clean it. or go to radioshack and purchase a small can of electronics cleaner. it's real easy to clean but you should handle the unit with care.

Cool, thanks for the info on the MAF cleaning. And I was just kidding about soap and water. I was just going to use an S.O.S pad instead. lol. Now what about the throttle body? I will experiment with mine this weekend like I said but every little bit of info helps.

you just reminded me, my brother mentioned "cleaning the throttle body" since he pointed out the gunk lining the inside of the hole (as we installed my cai). i would at least recommend trying that since i'll do it in the near future.
