If you hold down the tune/select knob on the non-premium factory radio until it beeps, it will allow you to adjust- bass, treble, & also midrange frequencies. The only drawback is, you must turn off the radio before you turn off the ignition or it will reset to just bass & treble adjustments.

The right knob on the radio that you use to change settings- bass, treble, fade, balance, or the radio station. Hold it down until you hear a beep. This is on the regular 6 speaker factory radio.
I was moving boxes & one held it down, when I started to go throught the settings afterwards I noticed that I could adjust midrange in addition to everything else. I just expands the sound more, but kills some of the bass. I just added more gain on my sub.

So if I try this and don't like the loss of bass, I can just turn off the ignition before the stereo and it'll all go back to the way it was before? (I have stock speakers so I can't bare to lose anymore bass). thanks!

Mine goes back, yes. Don't know how it will be w/out a sub to back it up.
