i got some touch up paint to get rid of a couple scratches and i was wondering what i should to to the paint to prep it for the touch up paint. the car has sience gone through the car was and got wax, do i need to remove this wax? confused


a kid told me that celicas handle like crap... i laughed

thats all good for rock chips, but i have a scratch and i bought touch up paint from a toyota dealer. is the process the same? once again there is a coat of wax above the scratch, how should i remove this?

you can use a clay bar to take off wax (available at your local pep boys or autozone)

that Magic Clay huh?...the guy at the dealership gave me some. That stuff wont hurt the paint will it?

nope just cleans it and takes off wax

you can also buy this gritty stuff in a tube (technical name grin) that you gently rub into the paint to take out scratches. Any auto parts store will carry a similar product. Just be careful not to damage the paint further by rubbing too hard or applying too much product.
