Paint headlights? Yay or nay

I'm deciding if whether or not I should paint my headlights. Here's a chop I did. Let me know if I should proceed. I'm thinking of getting a really hot exacto blade and open the headlight that way rather than sticking the entire headlight in the oven. I'm guessing it will work the same way since I'm only going to run it through that silicon adhesive stuff. ANy thoughts?

Before chop...

The after pic looks great! The hot knife idea is going to take forever to do...

Just put it in the oven. It's not as bad as you have probably heard. thumbsup

thanks for your input guys. I'm going to do this in the spring when it's nice and warm. Not really looking forward in removing the front bumper though. *yikes*

How do you go about painting them?

Do you just paint the outside or inside?

How much does it affect lighting?

The bumper is a piece of cake. Take off the engine plastics. Then there's 4 screws inside the Hood. 1 screw in each wheelwell where the bumper meets the fender & 8 screws underneath.

Cake.
