How are our 7th Gen Celica's holding up to rust and corrosion?

Anyone had a problem with it? If yes; where on the car and how much.

I'm hoping to hear from people who have had there Celica for a few years who live in areas where the roads get salted and sanded in the winter time.

I have no rust on mine. It isn't garaged, or anything. Its been in Michigan since summer of 02, and in Northern Ohio from 00 to 02. Its holding up great.

I only have the usual and expected rust on the brake rotors, and a little on some exterior bolts. I keep my car outside at school, and the area I'm in has a ton of pollution which reaks havoc on metal. But my celica is holding up great other than that

I'm starting to get rust at the spot where I threw a broken S2000 antenna at my car. Kinda cracked the black plastic around the rear side window & the metal thread of the antenna hit the body & now that little spot is rusting. I was frustrated with the car.

I just found one little rust spot today. My car is an 00 and have always been parked outside. So any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

As far as I know because our cars are made in Japan, they have added a ton on rust inhibitors to the metal. I have an 00 and its seen salt, sand, snow, ice, and there is no rust to be seen!!

There's a paint chip on my door from the previous owner, it runs about 1-2 inches long, and there's a little rust on it...besides a few rusty bolts there's not much else.

The previous owner was in Wisconsin.

Most rust spots people encounter with the Celica is where the front bumper bolts up to the fenders...I have rust there and so do quite a few people.

sadly, my celica is my "winter-beater." however, i wash my car once to twice a week though. in summer i get on with one wax a week. of course, there is no rust at all. my car is a 2000 and i have babied it since i got it.

ha, 500th post! yeah me! grin

I have a 2000, the earliest of the 7 gen but there's no spec of rust on my car. I live in Michigan by the way. The secret to having a rust free car is to wash it often, by that I mean just washing the salt off every other week. Also, salt doesn't eat away metal unless it's above freezing/cold temps. In other words, leave your garage unheated in the winter.
