Celica Forums General Discussion Interior passenger door lock messing up

Hey all,
I'm have a little trouble with my passenger door lock, it doesn't want to lock or unlock whenever I push the button on the console. It's acting like it "wants to" but it doesn't go ahead and flip forward or back. It moves forward or back about 1/8 inch. Any thoughts on how I might be able to fix it? thanks all Oh and another problem anytime that I turn my blower on hi my doors unlock like someone is pushing the unlock button. There is an aftermarket alarm system on it. Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. Thanks once again.

have you removed the door panel? cause mine did that after i removed the panel due to the cables being a little messed up, if you didnt mess with it then I don't have any other ideas sorry

remove the inner door panel, ( use the install guide ) there are two cables running from the outside of the door to the inside, one is the cable from the inside lever to open the door. the other is the inside lock cable. these cables are clipped into place on a bracket via plastic threads. check the cables have not come away from the brackets and that everything is ok in that area. thats where the problem is.
