Cool test. I always knew the HKS sucked. The blitz is just mesh, no oil in the element, always thought that was a bad idea. I'm surprised about the K&N, but I'm going with Apex'i filter too in the future.

When I looked on the application chart on the Apex site they don't list the 7th gen Celica (MR2 and Supra where the only Toyotas listed).

They make a universal filter that has an 80mm opening (80 millimeters = 3.1496063 inches).

At www.horsepowerfreaks.com [horsepowerfreaks.com] they say the Apex Universal, (Filter May Require use of apex adapter), APEX 500-A021. Although I could not find it on thier site, a Google search has yet to show what this adapter looks like or what it adapts to in terms of dimensions.

I also searched the user profiles on this site for "Apex" and only came up with Apex exhaust and turbo timers.

I think allot of us here would like to use an Apex filter on our rides but we need to find an adapter that will let it fit on an AEM, TPR or Injen pipe.

Anybody got any ideas?

apex filters are dry... and dont filter as well as wet filters like k&n... they also get water in them easier.

I agree with you on the water part, which would make it a questionalbe choice for a CAI filter, might be okay for an SRI.

It results in 1/10th more HP than the other filters in a Skyline which has gobs morepower than a Celica to begin with and granted it does a better job filtering than any of them in that test. AND it doesn't have the potential to contaminate the AFM with filter oil. But if its a lifetime filter and there's no way to clean it, how much more air will it be flowing than a K&N after 6 months. Therfore, I consider the APEXI to be a great high flow disposable air filter if you don't mind buying a new one at that cost every so often.
